It was 11.5hours drive from Melbourne to Sydney.

While driving pass a small town in NSW, we stop over to check out this Royal Australian Navy HMAS OtwayHolbrook submarine at a parkland near the Submariners Memorial Hollbrook, NSW.
At Sydney we stayed at Vibe hotel on Goulburn St. Nice contemporary hotel which have franchises at Melbourne & Gold Coast. We got a cozy room with modern furniture & vibrant colored walls. Very Nice Very Me Very Us.
We decided to walk down to Oxford St to check out the shaddy side of Sydney. We wanted to try out a Greek style seafood that was recomended by KatsuDon’s friend. Santorini, Oxford St. Conveniently located next to a bottle shop.
We had the seafood platter, meat platter, grilled marinated octopus, saganaki & bread&dips platter to share among the 5 of us.

Main Dishes:
A platter of gourmet bugs, blueswimmer crabs, salmon steak, octopus & prawns.

A platter of lamb & pork cutlets, chicken & lamb kebabs, stuffed chilli & sausages

After entrees and 3rd piece of prawn, I couldn’t stuff myself any more. Probably it was also because of the amount of wine we drank before going for dinner.
Christmas Eve- It rained the whole F*CKing day! Unbelievable.
We went to the FishMarket for lunch.

Please note: Never go to the market on Christmas Eve. It was packed like sardines
Meet up with Lynette & Simon for dinner at Maya Da Bhaba, Surry Hills. We ordered the banquet meal set and stuffed ourselves again big time. I’m so stuffed after having the entrées. We decided to we walked back to the hotel. It was a good 30 minutes walk.
Merry Christmas Sydney!
We actually packed all our beach gear and planned to have some baking sessions at Bondi. But then, lovely DJ said “I think it’s going to rain, better not bring the gears to Bondi”
I totally believed him but he was totally WRONG!
We caught bus no. 380 from stand C at Circular to Bondi Beach. It been awhile since I last caught a bus. The bus system in Sydney is 10x better than Melbourne.

View of the HarbourBridge & Sydney’s iconic building – Opera House. This is the place where tourists hang out. DJ is the tourist and I am the tour guide.
Bondi beach was packed. I think it’s the only place for people like us to hangout on Christmas day.

Merry Christmas DJ.
Stopped over at this lil café for some cold beer and hot chips. It was a nice day to just not do anything.
For dinner, we went to SuperBowl at Dixson St Chinatown to have crab porridge & pipies with XO sauce.

***
Supper time; We walked all the way from our hotel to Harry’sCafeDeWheels at Woolloomoolo but it was closed.
DJ was my photographer on that night.

Boxing Day – Home

The journey back to Melbourne, we stop over at JervisBay for brunch. We had “World Famous fish & chips” but I think the fish shop…I have tasted better fish & chips.
I regret for not taking the whole week off
P/s: I’ve been a good girl. I didn’t shop at all in Sydney.

I’m now learning how to edit photos in PS via online tutorial.
I was telling –ism that I regret not paying attention at class during my college years.
Today is the best day in my whole entire life of working. We get to go home at 12noon.
The lovely GM gave us each a set of Bloom limited edition gift set. Nice ![]()
I’m off to Sydney for the long weekend break. Not too sure what we’re going to do yet but DJ & I will probably be baking at Bondi beach on Christmas Day because none of the shops will be opened on that day.
The last time I was in Sydney was back in September 2002. I had lots of fun & ate so much till I nearly died.
Before I forget,
Quick reminder for DJ…

This is what I call an expensive PasarMalam in Melbourne. Yes, it’s the time of the year where TheNightMarket is held in VictoriaMarket on every Wednesday evening. There are heaps of things to see, buy & eat. This is my 4th year in a row going to the market.
Why I say it’s expensive? Would you pay $15 for seafood paella served in a small plastic plate? $12 Indian curry dishes on rice?
I still prefer the PasarMalam back in M’sia. I miss the ayam goreng, fishball skewers, fried turnip cake & the best of all AsamLaksa.

Caribbean styles of Calypso & Mento performance at the main stage led by groove meister Nicky Bomba.
Cheeky lyrics, infectious danceble rythms and real sense of spontaneous fun.
It’s was a good entertainment and not forgetting yesterday’s weather was pretty good.
I didn’t swear at the sky

This is what we have for dinner. German sausages.
I had the beef eater with sauerkraut.
Rating: 2/5
I still prefer the classic coney dog from A&W.

Chocolate fountain. Every girl’s love.
This stall was surrounded by female species only – young, old, thin, fat, pretty, ugly.

The pretzel tasted just ok. I won’t say it’s damn good and I reckon it’s best serve hot.

He said the corn was too salty for me so he ate all the salty part, in the end he finished it all by himself.
>_<
I didn't buy anything from the market. There were some cool gift ideas but I just think it's overly priced.

We have been experiencing bad weather for the past 3 days. Saturday’s weather was top of 41 degrees. Was supposed to work on that day but I cancelled it last minute because I was feeling not too well plus a hangover from the last cocktail I had at EL. Went to the Sass & Bide sale instead but didn’t get myself anything. I think I had enough of sass & bide jeans. DJ & I are eyeing at the Edwin RV series jeans that are currently sellling in Mooks. Fingers crossed and hope by the time we come back from Sydney they will still have the jean in my size.
KatsuDon&MonkeyKing invited us over to their place for Christmas dinner. It was a Cheong-Ee get together dinner. KatsuDon cooked a feast for us.

After dinner, we head off to Element Lounge.Yauie asked DJ to play the late set. He was really nervous at first but managed to spin some retro NRG stuff for us – CosmicGate:FireWire.1 Fan & US the Groupie.
We didn’t step outside the house on Sunday until 7pm to buy our take away from EddieWong.
Sigh how I wish tomorrow’s Friday.

Last Friday was no ordinary Friday after work drinks for us. It’s was the opening of Element Lounge that we all have been waiting for. Yes, finally a new bar in the city that we will be hanging out on every Friday after work.

Boys will be boys…
DJ bought 1800 tequila for everyone as starters. Apparently it was good tequila but I didn’t have any. I got scared from the worm tequila I drank when we were in NZ. It was the most horrible tequila I ever had and not forgetting swallowing the disgusting worm.
By the end of the night, the boys finished the whole bottle of 1800. Well-done Amigos.

Will post more photos once I get it off from BurtonCyborg.

Yauie,
Congratulation on the opening of Element Lounge.
Hugs,
Junie & DJ
