Hofbrauhaus

Last Friday we went to Hofbrauhaus for dinner to celebrate the safe return of KatsuDon and MonkeyKing’s 12 weeks of trekking and voluntary work in Nepal. I’m so happy to see them back in Melbourne. Des was back to his chatty mode. Everyone was surprised and commented “OMG!! He’s talking!!! Wow!!!” o_O’

Welcome back!!

We have 2 separate tables of 11pax. It was mad. Almost like a bus tour group dinner.
As usual, the boys started with the beers and killer schnapps.

Most of the peeps ordered the all time specialty MÜNCHNER SCHWEINSHAXE which is the pickled and roasted pork shank served with sauerkraut and potato dumpling.

The serving of the pork shank was HUGE.

Can you believe it that Missy finished the whole shank where else the boys couldn’t…

Missy and the bone.

I ordered the RINDSROULADE. Traditional German beef dish filled with onion, bacon and mustard it is served with its own sauce, fresh vegetable, red cabbage and boiled potato.

The beef tasted a bit tough and dry. I like the boiled potato and the red cabbage. Well at least it’s much better than the duck lasagna [yes I’m still beefing about it]

KatsuDon ordered the HÄHNCHEN SCHNITZEL Crumbed chicken schnitzel served with salad, potatoes of the day and homemade mayonnaise.

And some had the FRANKFURTER served with German style potato

I have tried this dish before and liked it a lot. Maybe next time I’ll just stick to the sausages.

I don’t know whether if there’s any food for me to eat in Germany because it gives me an impression that it’s the land of Porky Pig.
