    Melbourne Hwaro Korean BBQ

I told DJ that I could live in Korea if I have the chance. I heart korean cuisine.
This restaurant was recommended by KatsuDon’s work colleague.
    hwarobbq.jpg
Old school way of cooking ! Some say the food taste better when it’s cooked with a coal pit. Plus it also functioned as a heater.

Becareful with evil-twenty-one-percent-alcohol soju. You might wake up in a middle of the road or bed. ;)

I must say the kimchi they serve is by far the best I’ve ever taste. The after taste is still stuck in my mind. i bought 2 tubs of diffrent company kimchi but the taste is just no where near from what i had.
Hjien reckons the ambient of this BBQ restaurant resemble Korea.

    Airport Custom

This is so full of bull sh*t

One of my work colleague went to Japan few weeks ago for holiday. He and his fiancée bought their wedding band in T&C Japan. They declared their jewelries when they arrive back in Melbourne.

The custom was about to tax them on their wedding bands but my colleague questioned the custom with these questions:

“Why would you tax people who declare their goods?”
“Is it a crime to be honest?”

They just couldn’t answer him. Not even a proper explanation.

FYI, those were the same question that DJ used.
The custom kept quiet and gave him the dumb look. In the end he still got taxed for AUD$360.

But with my work colleague’s case is different; the custom let him go without taxing him.

    Wtf?

Is it a crime to be born yellow skin? Cipet.

Blardy hell after my wedding I’ll freaking wear all my jewelries like Mr .T from The A-team when I return to Melbourne. Sie mei! Humpphhh

    Bluefire Grill

Last Saturday Lynn, Eve and I went to Bluefire Grill Melbourne Central for dinner.

I wouldn’t say this is the best Melbourne steak house. The service wasn’t that good. We ordered a bottle of wine but the waitress corked the bottle. She did not bother to let us try our wine and pour half a glass to each to us. No wonder I was gone by the time we had dessert.

    For entrées

    salmon.jpg

Lynn ordered a smoked salmon terrine with crème fraiche, Philadelphia cheese, capers and chives

Eve and I ordered oysters from the southern regions to share.

    oysters.jpg

We had chilled oysters in 4 Ways: Natural with lemon, tequila & tabasco bloody mary, shallots &sherry vinaigrette and citrus & herb dressing

As for our mains, Lynn ordered eye fillet, Eve had the porterhouse and I had the rib eye. We had our steak with mushroom and garlic jus and the steaks were served with potato gratin and roast field mushrooms

The cheese lovers: Lynn and Eve ordered a Chocolate & Cheese Assiette platter

    cheese plater.jpg

The platter consist of hand pierced blue triple cream, cloth wrapped cheddar, lavosh crackers, Yarra Valley chilli jam, chocolate molten pudding, pistachio strawberries and dark chocolate shot.

I only had the chocolate molten pudding. Sorry no cheezey business for me…hehehe…

    tea.jpg

Unique way of serving tea but not pratical. My fingers got burned while trying to pour the tea.

    I look stuffed and gone!

Which Sex and the City Character Are You?

You are Carrie. You know what you want out of a relationship and you’re not afraid to keep moving until you get it. Wit and charm are your biggest turn-ons, and you like guys who appreciate you for your mind as much as your body. You have fun playing the dating game, but secretly you just can’t wait to find the guy who sweeps you off your feet and carries you into the sunset.

    Weekend shopping

    Me likey…

Caught up with Lynn on Saturday to see the HUA range.
While waiting for Lynn [this char bor was late for 2 hours] I added the fortune cookie app in FaceBook and the message I received was “Believe in love at first sight”. Very true… I’ll tell you why…
I have been eyeing on this black jacket from HUA’s autumn/winter range and the moment I tried it on, immediately I fell in love with it. SOLD.

    HUA blk jkt.jpg

It’s hard to find a jacket that fits well on me. The shoulder and sleeve length was just right.
    And it’s MADE IN AUSTRALIA.
    I’m happy

As for today, my intention of going to Chapel St was to look for a moleskin pocket size note book, a blusher from MAC and some Bonds undies but instead…. I got sidetrack again.
I love shopping by myself plus the weather was great!

    shopping collage.jpg

Maybe next time I should go snowboarding with DJ :P
Make mental note: *No more shopping till Japan 08*

MonkeyKing called to see if I want to go over to his place for dinner since I was home alone but I have cooked something edible from what I could salvage from the pantry and fridge. I made tofu miso soup and boiled Chinese cabbage in dashi stock. Surprisingly it tasted orite.

Is this normal or it’s just me?

Somehow on every Wednesday I’ll have this urge to go shopping during my lunch break.
Is it because I know that I’m getting paid on every Thursday?

I have been thinking [for the past 3 weeks] about this particular shoe: Ivory Marilyn peep toe heels from Nude.
Can I be bothered to walk to Green with Envy at Bridge Road to check if they have that colour in stock? Or hop on to the train to go to EbonyM at South Yarra.
Maybe I should call up just incase they didn’t have my size….

I blame this on the sucky weather that made me depressed and retail therapy is the only solution to cheer me up.

Perhaps I should wait till this Saturday where I’ll be going to check out H U A collection with Lynn.

    Help me! :|

la celébration de jour de bastille

Bastille Day is the French national holiday, celebrated on 14 July each year. In France, it is called “Fête Nationale” (“National Holiday”). It commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, held on
the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789; the storming of the Bastille was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern French “nation”, and of the reconciliation of
all the French inside the constitutional monarchy which preceded the First Republic, during the French Revolution.

    Chefs: DJ & KatsuDon
Kitchen hand: MonkeyKing, Junie & Hjien
    Cheese Monger: Iriya
Pastry Chef: BurtonCyborg but end up Yauie & Hjien cooking the the crepes.

DJ and I designed this tacky menu

    Bastille 1407.jpg

There was a last minute change on the menu. BC was suppose to make Crème brûlée for us but he realised that it was too much work involved. Therefore we ended having Crêpe Suzette which was delicious.

As usual, there were heaps of wine and champagne consumed on that night not forgetting the 18L of Go-shu sake brought by Eve.
