    Good Bye 2007

Oh my, I can’t believe today is the last day of 2007.
We were at torquay beach this morning at 7.30am to avoid the crowd. The weather was nice until 11-am. disgustingly hot. Luckily we left around noon.

This photo was taken at 7.14am. We thought the weather in melbourne went haywired (again). The weather report said it will be 41 degrees on NYE.

Then by 10.48am, the whole beach was packed with people from all over Melbourne.

    Happy Birthday MonkeyKing!

    xx

Tonight’s NYE celebration will be at EL with the usual suspects. Can’t wait to pass out before Des. I wonder if this will ever happen… hahaha…

    Happy New Year fellow bloggers!

Play safe and don’t drink and drive otherwise you’re a bloody idiot :P

    Boxing Day

It has been 2 years since we shop on Boxing Day. It’s very tempting to not buy anything on Boxing Day. Every freaking thing is on sale and I am very weak at controlling my itchy hands from swiping the devil’s card.

But I am proud of myself today. Instead of buying clothes or shoes I decided to buy myself a juicer. I always wanted a juicer.

    pressie.jpg

DJ got himself a stove top grill. He is the domestic goddess in the house. He’s very content with his new purchase.

The only bitch about the juicer is washing up the micro mesh filter :(

    steak.jpg

Tonight’s dinner, DJ cooked scotch fillet steak with potatoes and salad. Yummm.

I’ll be going to the city tomorrow to get a salad spinner and maybe…maybe…a dress
    No la, just kidding…hehehe

Yauie & Shane’s BIG 3-0 dress up party

Last weekend was our dearest Yauie & Shane’s 30th birthday party at OaksOnMarkets.
We were all invited to celebrate this special day with them in 1 condition; everyone have to dressed up as their favourite celebrity costume.
It was a great night with all our friends mocking their characters.

I went as Lara Croft. No don’t get me wrong, i’m not a fan of Lara Croft. I didn’t even know that the boobs were part of the costume. Later that night I found out there was another Lara Croft in the party except my boobs guns were bigger than her.

Yauie in genie costume and GQ [yes gossip queen was back in Melbourne for holiday] in Zorro costume.
There were 3 Zorros on that night and we gave them a new name “The 3 Amigos”

Here are some photo collage of the night.

I had to look serious the whole night when taking photos because of the character I was in. It was horrible to not smile in photos.

My camera battery died at the middle of the party [again] so I couldn’t take any photos for the rest of the night. damn frus lor. CB

    Rain rain go away

Anyway I’m glad the Christmas holidays have started.
My manager was so nice to us. We get to go home early for once on a Friday!!

    2 DAYS TO GO!!

Can’t wait for the Christmas break.

This year I had to take force leaves because the office will be shut from 24th Dec – 2nd Jan.

Luckily we have made plans for the Christmas break. Otherwise it will be such a waste to just do nothing

On Sunday the Belachan Surf crew will be going to Torquay for 2 nights. We have hired a holiday apartment at Jan Juc and it has a spa!!
I’m hoping to do some shopping at the outlets again. I need something to wear for NYE at EL.

After Torquay, DJ & I will be going to stay at the winery for 2 nights. Woo hoo… I’ve never stayed in the winery before. I reckon it will be nice and serene.

Sorry for MIA for so long.
Currently DJ & I are on a TVB series marathon. We are watching Twins of Brothers. This series is kinda old; well not that old around 3 years old but I guess it is better than nothing to watch.

I still need to post about last weekend’s happening. Will be back soon after I’ve completed the series marathon.

It was an awesome night with free flow of bubbly which surprising tasted really good.

    Ampang Tofu

Look what we found during the weekend.

    DSC08907.jpg
    An authentic Malaysian eatery.

Ampang is a district in Kuala Lumpur and it is particularly famous for yong tau foo.

The owner of Ampang Tofu also owns Grand Tofu in Glen Waverly. We usually go to Grand Tofu when we have serious cravings for Malaysian hawker food.

This time I didn’t order the yong tau foo instead I tried their “today’s special’ – Assam Laksa.

    DSC08908.jpg

To my surprise it actually tasted much better than Madam Kwans’.

    DSC08909.jpg

Absolutely love the shui gow dumpling. The filling of the dumpling consist prawn meat and bamboo shoot. Ah…finally I get to enjoy dumplings without pork meat. I don’t even get this in Malaysia.

Now I know where to go if I’m craving for Assam Laksa :D

    Celebrity Perfumes

Is anyone aware about the booming business of celebrity perfumes?

I was flipping thru the pages of Vogue Australia and found out that first 10 pages were about perfume ads endorsed by celebrities and followed by so called “business minded” celebrities trying to sell their own perfume brands.

Myers is a very good place to shop for all sorts of perfumes. I could not believe the amount of celebrity perfumes that are available. There were Kate Moss, Christina Aguilara, Paris Hilton, David Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, Britney Spears, Sean John [P Daddy], JLo and the list goes on. I wonder whose next? William Hung?

I maybe old fashion but I still prefer buying perfumes from high end brands… brands that are famous for their haute couture, brands that have been in the cosmetic/fragrance business since I was not even born yet.
What happened to the classic brands? i.e Christian Dior, Channel, Lancôme, Calvin Klein, Issey Miyake?

Biggest disappointment… Gwen Stefani L fragrance smelled exactly the same as Jennifer Lopez’s STILL

Super salah ok. tsk tsk tsk… where’s the dstinctiveness la?

    Butter Fingers

What a bad week at work.
2 days ago, I dropped my lovely-but-useless mobile on the ground. The poor mobile now have massive dents and scratches all over it.
Fine. I told myself since the phone is $0 I shouldn’t be upset about it.

Then today I drop my o’ faithful sunnies at the same spot I drop my mobile…

am I being jinx? Or is it a sign for me to replace some new gadgets for the coming 2008?

    >_<

    Wah lau super tulan!!!

Anyway I’m excited about tonight! We are going to Chaddy for Christmas shopping. Yay!

I still haven’t found anything to wear to Yauie’s dress up birthday party next Sat and this coming weekend we will be busy again :( .

    Summer

It was a fantastic weekend except for today when it poured like cats and dogs all afternoon. It reminds me a lot about M’sia :( .

We were at the beach for 2 days in a row. On Sat we went to Portsea. The initial plan was Rye beach but DJ was not confidence to surf on a non patrolled beach. I on the other hand was the camera crew for the Belachan Surf Project.

    DSC08766.jpg
Taken at 8.40am. The weather forecast said it was sunny but I find it quite chilly.

    DSC08762.jpg
Me ME me!!! Getting ready for my morning nap. I really enjoy morning naps at the beach… the sound of the waves are like lullabies

Then on Sunday we went to Torquay. I must say I’m very in love with this beach. Promising waves and the beach is 100% patrolled except for the time we were there 8 months ago when Melbourne had the wackiest weather. I still remember trying to save KatsuDon’s body board that flew away like a kite.
Sorry no photos of Torquay. I was having so much fun!!

Now my whole body is very sore from body boarding. No, I’m not a pro. I’m just testing out the board that I eventually will inherit from DJ. He’s now eyeing on surfboards -_-

Before heading back to Melbourne we stop by the outlets and did some shopping at the Rip Curl outlet store . Brought some bathers and a board-short for less than $80!! What a bargain.
