Good bye 2008 and Hello 2009.

Boy, oh boy time flies quickly this year. Can’t believe that today is the last day of 2008.

It has been a very hectic Christmas long weekend for us. All we did was stuffing ourselves with food and drinks. I reckon I have grown 5 inches sideways.

I find it kind of disturbing looking at myself infront of the mirror. My tummy sort of became bigger and NO I’m not pregnant.
    Sad.gif boo hoo…damn sad wei.

So today I decided to have a long black just to boost up my metabolism so that I can eat more tonight and not feel bad.

Tonight we are going to MonkeyKing’s for a family dinner and after that Damo’s pad to watch the fireworks.
I got DJ to look after my “drink” list for tonight’s event. hehehe…

I will be off again for another long weekend starting tomorrow. Hooray!!

To all my fellow bloggers, have a very Happy New Year and see you all next year.

    Happy Holidays!

I don’t usually enjoy Christmas in Melbourne but this year was different.

We had Christmas Eve dinner at home before heading off to Carols by Candlelight with the gang.
It was a mad night. As usual some of us will get really smashed and do silly things. We hung out at the park outside Sidney Myer Bowl till pass midnight and went home to continue round two.

BurtonCyborg is definitely in Santa’s naughty list. He created a mayhem outside our apartment and we are still trying to figure out how to resolve it. Neways it was good fun.

Today Eve called to invite us all to her place for lunch when we were about to get some pho for lunch. We were astonish with the amount of food that Eve’s dad had prepared. We had peking duck and super fresh prawns. yum yum yum…
I had a good 3 hours nap after lunch. I was knackered.

Boxing day sale starts tomorrow and I am still contemplating whether to go.

After all this years Christmas was not tad bad…

    Happy Friday

Hooray! Our home internet speed has resume back to normal. Thanks to DJ who forgot to pause his downloading during peak time >.<

It was the best Friday I ever had in my 3 years working at TH. We went lawn bowling at 3pm. Yippeee…

    Lawnbowling.jpg

Having one hand holding on to my beer while bowling is totally priceless.
I had an absolute wonderful time.

After lawn bowling I caught up with DJ for dinner. He was at his company’s Xmas party and they went for lawn bowling as well but in another different club.

I’ve downloaded the Wordpress application for the Iphone but then realised that the WP version that I currently have on my macbook is an older version and hence it’s not compatible. I also need to read up about what is XML-RFC service. Apparently it has something to do with my connection… hmm… I’ll read it on Christmas Day since non of the shops will be open :(

    The Graham

    IMG_0023_thegraham.jpg

My manager and I attended a Xmas lunch at The Graham, organised by one of our suppliers from work.
I had the Chargrilled 1824 scotch fillet served with horseradish potato salad, wholegrain mustard butter and red wine jus.

Everyone was curious of me taking photos of the food -_-.

    Iphone.

I can now check facebook with this new toy at work. Yay!!
I’ve been good this year and Santa knows.
    HO HO HO.

    15 days till Xmas

    Today’s traffic was good.
I made it to work without embarrassing myself… hahaha.
I decided to follow behind the tram so that no one will tailgate me. Not really a smart move but I guess after a few more practice I’ll eventually over take the tram.

Catching up with the girls tonight at Nam’s new restaurant but before that I’ll have to get DJ to help me at the service station. I know I’m hopeless :P

    Driving to work.

Driving a manual car is no fun at all :( From what I recall I’ve only driven a manual car for about 2 months after I’ve got my m’sian driving license which was 10 years ago. My dii got me an automatic car on my 18th birthday and I find driving was really fun at that time. Three years later I moved to Melbourne and since then I use the train or tram as my source of transportation. So now after 7 years, I’m back to square one.

Yesterday was driving to work Day 1.

Before that I used to catch the train to work and I could actually leave home at 8.20am and still make it to work before 8.45am (I usually give an excuse that the train was delayed… opps :P ). Now I have to wake up half an hour earlier to get ready and leave home 1 hour earlier to beat the traffic.

Today’s drive to and back from work was pretty stressful. My body was shaking so badly when I arrived home. The weather was not great either. Rained and everyone was trying to get home quickly. I drove within the speed limit but somehow the cars behind me was like tailgating me. Arrghh >.< this is damn annoying wei. Anyway I hope tomorrow’s drive will be a lot better.
    Wish me luck peeps.

p/s: now I understand why people who drives will try to avoid the trams. I had encountered 2 tram incidents today and it was pretty humiliating. Damn trams.

    Okonomiyaki

Today we decided to have okonomiyaki for dinner. Okonomiyaki means “cook what you like”. The process of cooking this dish is very simple and all we need is a premix batter that is easily found in any Japanese grocer.

For our fillings we have instant char-meen noodle, chopped spring onion, crab stick, corn, kimchi gyoza and cabana.

Our home made okonomiyaki with extra *okonomiyaki sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce but thicker and sweeter), aonori (seaweed flakes), katsuobushi (fish flakes)* and heaps of Japanese mayonnaise. Oishi :D

    *extracted from wikipedia.

    Knit knit purl purl

    IMG_1220_knitknitpurlpurl.jpg

I’ve started another knitting project. This time I plan to knit a triangle scarf for my Japan trip. With the global economy crisis, I reckon DIY scarf is the way to go instead of spending money on a new scarf. The total cost of the scarf cost me less than $12.
I don’t usually knit during summer because of the hot weather.

Shall post my finish project once it’s done. It shouldn’t take too long to complete unless I get side tracked with new k-dramas :P

Sum up for the month of November.

    1) Am giving my eardrums a rest.
I’ve been reading a lot lately during my train ride to and back from work. So far I have finished 2 books by Lauren Weisberger ; Everyone worth knowing & Chasing Harry Winston.
Currenly I am reading Fashionista. I had this book for almost 4 years but never got around to finish it. I decided to read the book all over again but the storyline seems to be too draggy. No wonder I stopped halfway. Anyhow I’ll still have to finish the book no matter how crappy the ending will be.

    2) My Drama series marathon.
During the whole month of November I’ve accomplish 4 TVB and 1 korean series.

    Seven days
    Catch me now
    Moonlight Resonance
    D.I.E

    My girls (k-drama)
    – KX, have you watch this series? The actor in this series is damn good looking. You will lurvvvveee it.

Now I’m left with nothing to watch and I am suffering from series withdrawal symptom. HJ told me there is this tiny Asian shop next to Melbourne central that stock Asian series. Might head down to the city this Thursday to get some new series to watch.

    3) Wicked was awesome.

    IMG_0930_wicked.jpg

I really enjoyed watching the play and was amazed with the costumes. I regret not bringing my glass with me. I had to squint my eyes so badly even though we sat quite near to the stage. The lady that sat next to me was screaming her lungs out during every interval. At one point I got so fed of her screaming, I decided to scream along just to annoy her back. Evil me…hihihi

    4) Baby Quentin was born on 21st November. Congratulation DQ & Duyen!!!

    5) Catch up club updates.

    @ Siglo Bar

I missed out the last catch up with the girls and this time we caught up at Ling & Duncan’s wedding registry on the 29th . The newly wed will be expecting their first child in April. How exciting.
Meghan is also pregnant and she will be due in June. Another Gemini like Aunty June *Grin* The next time when we girls have our catch up session if will be table for 6 instead of 4. Lol.

Work Christmas party is on this Wednesday at Red Scooter. I’ll try my best to look forward for this party.
Alright that’s all for my latest updates. I think I’ve lost my blogging mojo.
