3 days in a row of 43 degrees is not funny at all.
I had to sleep in the living room using a beach mat because our room was too stuff and hot.
I wish I was in Malaysia now or Japan (Yippeee… 19 days to go).
I am so over with Melbourne.

and… HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY.
So happen this year Chinese New Year falls on the same day as Australia Day so instead of having yum cha session we had BBQ lunch at BurtonCyborg. DJ was the chef for this event
Warm duck salad & Potato salad prepared by DJ.
I was feeling abit emo for not being able to celebrate this festive season with my family (again). However I was glad that I didn’t have to work on the first day of Chinese New Year

Today’s weather was unbelievable hot. Forecasted 34C but it felt like 39C. As forcasted, this hot weather will be on going for the next few days. I feel sorry for the tennis players in the Australian Open that have to experience these hot weather during their competition.

This was last Wednesday’s weather report taken from my car thermometer. I was almost cooked in my car while driving back from work >.<
Now you know why I have this love hate relationship with Melbourne’s weather. It either gets too hot or too cold.

Excited? Almost…
This Japan trip was planned since June ‘08 and there will be 15 of us going. Iriya & MonkeyKing will be designing our SDS t-shirts.
Mental note to myself: “remember to buy white t-shirt”
I have also submitted my visa application to the Japan consulate and will be collecting it this Wednesday. I am amazed that there is no queue at the Japan consulate.
Accommodation in Tokyo & Hakuba have been finalized. We will be staying at this boutique hotel in Tokyo which is walking distance to Shinjuku station for ¥13,650 (~ AUD $230 per night). I did a Google map street view and there is a departmental store near our hotel. How convenient…
*Edited*
As of 4th Feb, the final head count is 17 of us going to Japan O_O. Katsudon & Hayden decided to join us in Japan. Awesome

Backdated post : Xmas eve dinner 08.
DJ cooked a specatacular Xmas eve dinner. The main ingrediant was OYSTERS. We bought these considerably good size oysters from this wholesaler next to his work place – 6 dozens for less than $50.

Oyster natural with mignonette sauce.

Japanese oyster kaki fry & deep fried rice balls.

Baked oyster in herb butter and golden panko.

Oysters roll in thick warm sabayon sauce.
The oysters were wrap in savoy cabbage with blue cheese fillings and served in champagne sabayon sauce.
I feel like having oysters today for dinner after looking at these photos… with a glass of Brown Brother Zibibbo… yummm

I had a very productive day today. Took 2 hours off from work to renew my revisiting residence visa at Dimia.
I decided to take the train to the city instead of driving so that I could do some reading. Currently reading – Twilight. Absolutely love it.
I really want to watch the movie but I was told to read the book first and then watch it because the movie is a bit of disappointing. I guess reading the book will require a lot of imagination on how Edward Cullen actually looks.
DJ refuses to watch the movie with me. He reckons it’s stupid. -___-
After renewing my visa, I went back to the office to continue back yesterday’s work. My manager is on 3.5 weeks holidays and I had to follow up all her work. It was mad. I still haven’t lay my hands on my own work.
I decided not to make any New Year resolutions this year because it usually turns out disappointing.
Also,I have so many backdated posts that have been sitting at the draft section for awhile…since last year.
WIP post :-
Xmas Eve – Oyster fiesta
Photo diarrhea of NYE @ Damo’s
Dinner at Rockpool with Uncle CM & Family.
Hopefully I’ll be able to complete all these outstanding post soon.
Btw, summer is here… finally.
Orite…signing off here. Cheers and hope for the best for 2009. xoxo
