Good bye Grandma.

Received a bad news from my family in Malaysia this morning. My ah-mah has passed away at 2.13am.

The first thought in my mind was I had to go back to pay her last respect but somehow there were a lot going on in my mind at the same time. I am not too sure how to express it out.

When I rang my mom, all I did was I kept quiet and my mom thought the line was playing up and hung up on me -_-”

Then I rang again.I couldn’t control my emotions and I cried so much that my mom couldn’t speak to me and pass the phone to my dad. All he said to me was “control yourself and keep calm!” I guess it was very hard for my dad too.

Ah-mah has been suffering alzheimer all this while ever since my ah-yeh passed away. At that time I was still in my 20s and I didn’t understand why is my grandma behaving like this. From then, my ah-mah’s health has been going down hill. She had to be admitted to the nursing home because it was causing too much stress to everyone to look after her.

The last time I visited her was on my recent trip back to Malaysia. I bought Zarina along to see her great grand mother. It was very heart breaking to see how much my ah-mah has changed but I can tell she acknowledge our presence.

Ah-mah may you rest in peace.

Gosh this job hunting is actually vey depressing. I’ve lost count on how many jobs I have applied over the past 8 weeks.

I even applied for a retail assistant role in Zara but still haven’t heard back from them yet.

I’m now selling my junk in eBay to get some pocket money. Very soon I’ll be selling everything in the house!!!

Z has learnt to sit up on her own and she is also in the progress of crawling. She can only crawl 2 steps at a time and after that she goes back to her commando crawling.

Her first tooth came out on 26th March and the 2nd tooth is on its way. She did try to bite me when I was feeding her and I told her “NO!” but she thinks it’s funny -___-

Z has no problem eating her solids. She just loves food.
I recorded down her daily routine and it’s just a full on day of eat play and sleep. Tough life huh for a baby! LOL

I must say putting Z in child care has makes a lot of difference. The separation anxiety is not that bad compared to before which is a big relief to us.

Iphone 4S

I couldn’t wait anymore for my BlackBerry contract to end. I’ve signed up for a new iphone 4S with Vodafone. Yay!!

BlackBerry and I just don’t click. I did try to love the BlackBerry however this phone is not a good phone for web browsing and the camera quality is not that great.

I tend to spend a lot of my time travelling on public transport so having an iphone I can listen to music, surf the net and take numerous random photos.

Another thing with my BlackBerry, I can’t seem to login to free wi-fi spots whenever I’m in overseas. This really frustrates me. What’s the point of having a smartphone that’s not that smart? Oh well, lesson learnt. Never again I will use a BlackBerry. The only cons about the phone is the qwerty keypads. That’s all, nothing else.

The grass is always greener over the other side.

It’s Labour Day long weekend!
DJ must be having a ball at Malacotta fishing trip with his mates where else I had to cancel all my appointments meet up because Z caught a cold from day care.

To me, long weekend is now just a normal day like any other day. Being a mother is not easy. That’s why sometimes I really wish I could go back to the work force to have a work life balance.

After my 3 weeks holidays, I have been applying for jobs religiously but there were no replies. It’s very frustrating and often I kinda feel very low. Next week Z will be in day care for 4 days. I will miss her a lot but I have no choice.

My mom has been very supportive to me. She kept reminding me to not worry so much and things will fall into its own place. I hope so too…

Living overseas is not a something other sees as a great thing. Often I think whether if I have made the right choice to stay here.

Weight - 7.125kg Height - 68cm

My little pumpkin is getting cuter everyday and she is quite heavy now (to me) although she is still consider the lightest baby in mothers’ group. Z is now having 3 times solids a day. She kinda skipped size 00 and went straight to 0.

No signs of crawling yet however Z tends to drag her body (commando) if she is trying to reach for her toys. DJ is very eager for Z to crawl but I’m not cuz that means we will have to child proof our house asap.

Z has also discovered her voice and has been very vocal. She tends to blabber a lot before she goes to sleep. Very cute (^_^)

Z is growing up too fast. She is now on solids 2 times a day and I’ve partially wean off breast feeding to get her familiarise with child care. Yes, we are putting our baby in child care 4 days a week just after she turns 8 months old. It’s hard for us but I have no choice. I need to go back to work (if I find any!) Living overseas with a baby without any family help is very difficult. We have to secure her spot in child care otherwise it will be impossible for me to actually attend any interviews. How I wish I was still in Malaysia!

Malaysia – Chinese New Year 2012

It has been almost 5 years since I last celebrated Chinese New Year with the family. Festive season in Malaysia is always so good and fun especially with all the food we stuff ourselves with.

This year’s celebration is different because it was our first time travelling with a baby. Z was a good baby and she didn’t mind the 7 hours air plane ride. Everything went really well. I had a lot help from the airport ground staff and also Singapore immigration custom officers were very helpful too. Overall I can manage to travel alone with a baby!

Z’s grandparents were so happy to see her and she has been spoilt silly by them. To see the smiles on both my parents and my in-laws are priceless. I have mentioned to DJ that we have to make a point to go back to Msia every CNY so that Z will not forget her grandparents.

I managed to see my uncle from Canada and also visited my grandma in the nursing home. It was really heart breaking to see how much my grandma has changed. I hope she still remembers me.

3 weeks just went pass so quickly and here we are back in miserable Melbourne.
